Rapid HBsAb Test is a chromatographic immunoassay for qualitative detection of the surface antibody of hepatitis B virus (Anti-HBs) in human whole blood samples.
Antibody to hepatitis B surface antigen is the antibody that best correlates with immunity to hepatitis B virus. The HBsAb test looks for antibodies that your immune system makes in response to the surface protein of the HBV.
Positive result of HBsAb findings in patients currently infected with HBV, or patients with a past HBV infection. If your HBsAb test is negative, it can mean many different things – but, in general, it means you are not immune to the Hepatitis B virus. A protective result after receiving of the last dose of the three-dose primary immunization series suggests long-term protection with no need to repeat HBsAb testing in the future, even following exposure to an infected person. If you test is negative, your doctor may recommend getting the vaccine.
